About Willis Pianos
Established in 1894 by Alexander Willis in Montreal, Quebec, Willis & Co. started as a piano dealer, but had other piano manufacturers build pianos for them under the “Willis & Co.” brand name. In 1907, Willis & Co. acquired the Lesage Piano Company, which provided them with the resources and infrastructure to start manufacturing their very own pianos under the “Willis & Company” name. The company grew to become one of Canada’s most celebrated piano manufacturers of the 20th century, but eventually closed their doors in 1978.
