Wurlitzer began as an importer of orchestral instruments from Germany into the United States. However, in 1880, the company began producing their own pianos and, as they say, the rest is history. Wurlitzer quickly grew to become one of the world’s most prolific manufacturers of musical instruments. Their pianos were highly-regarded for their reliability and excellent quality, which eventually led the piano giant Baldwin to acquire Wurlitzer in 1988.
