While the piano manufacturing industry may have moved away from Canada since the middle part of the 20th century, Canada is not without a strong history when it comes to piano building.
The pinnacle of that history is Nordheimer and Heintzman. While both companies operated autonomously, brothers Samuel and Abraham Nordheimer eventually partnered with Gerhard Heintzman in 1886.
Heintzman eventually acquired exclusive rights to the Nordheimer name in 1927 and continued to produce quality instruments under its title until the 1960s.
Most Canadian pianists will be well aware of Heintzman and Nordheimer pianos and their reputation as being well-crafted, durable instruments with excellent cabinetry.
This particular used Nordheimer XH132 upright piano is no exception. It is finished in the traditional and sought-after ebony polish.
With a price tag of under $3000, it provides excellent value to a hobby player or student looking to start their musical journey off on an acoustic instrument.
