WM Knabe was founded in 1835 by the esteemed piano builder Wilhelm Knabe. Shortly after launching his piano dealership, Knabe partnered with Henry Gaehle. The newfound partnership transitioned the company into building its own upright, grand, and square pianos, which received a plethora of awards due to their exceptional quality. The tradition of these wonderful pianos has been continued with the Samick Music Corporation’s WM Knabe line.
The used Knabe WMV245 is a 43” console upright piano produced in Samick’s highly-regarded Indonesian factory. Samick’s WM Knabe line is divided into three tiers: Baltimore (WV), Academy (WMV), and Concert (WKV). The WMV245 model is part of the mid-tier Academy series. With that said, the WMV245 offers far more than what one would expect from a mid-level upright. This is evident by its impressive features and specifications.
This WM Knabe WMV245 is finished in a beautiful polished white and features a solid Canadian spruce soundboard along with maple-capped bridges, traditional sand cast plate, German Roslau strings, and an all-maple action. The sum of these features, which more closely resemble those of a much more expensive instrument, results in an excellent sounding and playing piano.
The next owner of this beautiful WM Knabe WMV245 upright piano will be impressed with the fantastic musical experience that it offers.
