Heintzman is unquestionably the most famous Canadian piano manufacturer of all time. The company, which was founded in Toronto, Ontario, Canada by Theodore August Heintzman in 1866, produced fine upright and grand pianos for more than 100 years. Heintzman pianos established a strong reputation for excellent workmanship, excellent tone, and beautiful cabinetry., which led to the deserved nickname “The Steinway of the North”.
While the company ceased production in 1978, the Heintzman name was later resurrected in 1989 by Canadian investors, but manufacturing was relocated to Beijing, China. However, the original scale designs along with some equipment from the original Canadian factory were sent to China and are still being utilized, which allows these more recent Heintzman pianos to follow suit with their predecessors in regard to their reliability and durability.
This Heintzman HG140 is a simply stunning piano. Its attractive furniture style cabinet is finished in a gorgeous polished mahogany finish. The HG140’s eye-catching aesthetic is complimented by a responsive touch and wonderful tone. This piano’s elegant look and tone make it a wonderful choice for a player or student seeking a reliable instrument that doubles as an accent piece in the home.
