Used Grotrian Compose Exclusif Upright Piano

Grotrian Steinweg (in North America usually just ‘Grotrian’) is one of the world’s oldest piano makers, and for their 175th anniversary, they issued a special instrument – an upright piano – entitled The Compose Exclusif.  50 units were produced, and just one came to Canada, #17. The piano was ordered and owned by a member of Merriam’s management team and has been meticulously cared for over its short 9-year lifespan.

The piano has a rare clarity and bell-like tone, and a sustain more reminiscent of a 7’ grand than an upright of any size. Its action is highly responsive and perfectly regulated, and the scale gives off virtually no uncontrolled overtones throughout the entire range.

A truly special upright piano for players seeking a lifetime musical partner, but working with a smaller living space.
