In 1906, Douglas Grover, the third generation of Grover piano makers (his father and grandfather produced Grover & Grover pianos), founded his own piano-making enterprise, the Stroud Piano Company, in London, England. By 1930, Douglas’ son Richard had joined the family business and, together, they launched a new overstrung piano design to be sold under a new name: the Bentley Piano Company. Bentley pianos found immediate success and the company quickly became a major piano manufacturer with an output of over 3000 pianos annually.
This used Bentley upright piano certainly encapsulates the quality, craftsmanship, and musicality that helped establish the Bentley Piano Company’s reputation as some of the finest built British pianos. It features a traditional ebony polish finish and is equipped to offer its new owner a wonderful musical experience through its responsive touch and musical voice. While the reputation of German-made pianos is well known even outside of piano circles, British-made pianos represent an impressive mastery to the craft of piano building.
This used Bentley upright piano is ideal for a beginner to the intermediate student or intermediate hobbyist that is looking for a very finely-crafted European instrument at an affordable price.
