Seiler SE126 Product Overview
Dating all the way back to 1849, Seiler pianos are legendary in the industry for their innovative designs blended with traditional piano craftsmanship of the highest calibre; which combine to produce a wonderfully clear tone. In the early 1900s, Seiler was Eastern Europe’s largest piano manufacturer, and to this day continues to produce world-class instruments in the small town of Kitzingen, Germany.
The Seiler SE126 is a 49” tall upright (or 126cm) and is, therefore, the second tallest German-made Seiler model available. This piano satisfies the ‘48” or taller’ requirement and offers families, musicians, and teachers a luxurious and top-quality piano experience which they will enjoy for decades to come. This piano along with all other Seiler models is meticulously hand-crafted from the finest raw materials by some of the finest piano makers there are.
The SE126 offers a list of very high-end piano features, which give it its gorgeous and legendary tone and feel. Among other things, they receive the highest grade Bavarian White Spruce Soundboards multi-laminated Delignit pin blocks (20 ply!), quarter-sawn beech bridges, full Renner actions, Abel Hammers and Roslau Strings from Germany
Seiler is also quite unique in that they put out only about 1,000 beautiful handcrafted pianos per year, and that they still offer extremely innovative features, some of which are exclusively their own invention. One of these notable features would be their ‘Membrator System’ Soundboard. This is a feature that Seiler patented, and refers to sculpting the soundboard and making the outer part of it thicker than its center this improves its responsiveness, and allows its outer portion to not be interrupted by the connection to the inner rim. This ultimately winds up making the soundboard far more resonant and responsive. Also, certain upright models can be ordered with ‘Super Magnetic Repetition Action’, which uses magnets on the action to increase repetition speed/key reset.
If you’re looking for a top-quality and generation upright piano made by one of the finest piano brands of all time, the Seiler SE126 should certainly be on your list
German Renner Action
The Seiler SE126 features a full German Renner action, which gets impeccably set up, regulated, and aligned by the specialists at Seiler Germany. As of recently, Seiler has been extending the key lengths and lightening up their actions, both of which have been very well received by all. The larger Seiler SE132 is also available with ‘Super Magnetic Repetition’, for those looking to explore this innovative action feature from Seiler
Bright, Clear, & Colourful Tone
A bright, clear, and colorful tone has been characteristic of Seiler pianos since they began being made in 1849. The high tension scale design of the pianos along with a couple of other factors allows for extremely consistent tone from one instrument to the other. Recently, Seiler has added duplex scaling to the pianos for added colour in the upper register of the pianos. The SE126 has a tone that will inspire all players – beginners to the best of the best
Abel Hammers
The SE126 model from Seiler receives German Abel hammers. These hammers get meticulously voiced and aligned by the specialists at Seiler Germany. Abel hammers are present in some of the world’s finest pianos
Bavarian Spruce Soundboard
The Seiler SE126 upright piano receives a premium quality Bavarian White Spruce Soundboard which gets inspected and cured by the specialists at Seiler Germany. Seiler pianos have some of the most advanced soundboard technology of any piano company regardless of size, and have patented their ‘Soundboard Membrator System’. This system allows for the soundboard wood around the edges to be thicker than the wood in the center of the board. This allows for the soundboard to be more responsive and resonant in the center and not lose as much energy to the inner rim/casing. Bavarian Spruce ribs are also strategically positioned onto the soundboard by hand
Premium Cabinet
The cabinet on the SE126 is second to none. This piano looks as good as it sounds, which is really saying something. The cabinet features modern curved front legs, all brass hardware, European style double caster wheels, and a Premium-level Ebony Polish finish
