If you’re familiar with advanced classical repertoire, you’ll know that many pieces require the use of all three pedals found in the acoustic grand piano; the soft, sostenuto, and damper pedal. The KPD-90 pedal unit provides this three pedal experience, and even offers the more nuanced ‘soft pedaling’ capability. If you’re looking to play classical music and you’re targeting the FP-60X or FP-90X, the KPD90 is a must-add.

Classic Appearance

The classic appearance of an acoustic upright piano lights up any room. The addition of the KPD90 Triple Pedalboard helps give the FP-60X and FP-90X the appearance of a traditional upright piano, rather than just a keyboard.

Requires KSC-90 or KSC-72 to Function

It’s important to know that if you’ve decided on the Roland FP-60X or FP-90X and you know you want to add the KPD-90, the Roland KSC-72 is required for the KPD-90 to function with the FP-60X, and the KSC-90 is required for the KPD-90 to function with the FP-90X. While you can buy the KSC-90 or KSC-72 and don’t necessarily need to add the KPD-90, the reverse isn’t true.

Expert Advice

If you’ve decided on the FP-60X or FP-90X and it’s not something you’ll be frequently taking on the go (but still have the option to regardless), and if you play classical music, regardless of level, we recommend adding the KPD-90.
