Product Overview

Ritmuller as a piano company originated in Germany in 1795 and was one of Europe’s most successful piano makers of its day. The composer Brahms famously preferred playing on Ritmuller pianos and the brand earned a very strong reputation. The piano landscape looks a little different than it did back then, but thankfully the Pearl River Piano Company in Guangzhou, China brought Ritmuller pianos back to the global market in the year 2009. Together with a European Piano Design team, Pearl River took the classic Ritmuller scale designs and infused them with modern piano technology and manufacturing techniques to bring to the world a truly unique instrument

The Ritmuller UH132R Concert Upright is 52” in height, and is what’s referred to as a ‘full-size upright’. Pianos like this are ideal for players with experience, for situations where a grand is needed but not attainable due to space, or simply for someone looking for a full sounding an upright as possible. Concert uprights actually have longer strings and a larger soundboard size than many baby grand pianos out there.

Ritmuller pianos are very much influenced by pianos from Europe in several ways, and with the help of modern manufacturing techniques, are quite a bit more cost accessible. They even have many sought-after material and design features such as: an all-wood action made of Hornbeam, Molded Maple and Maple Capped Vertically Laminated Bridges, a solid spruce tapered soundboard, and German Roslau Strings.

The Ritmuller UH132R comes in the sleek and popular Ebony Polish finish and to differentiate it from the rest of the line as the flagship model, it receives Chrome Hardware – pedals, hinges, and double caster wheels

Action

The UH132R Upright from Ritmuller has an action that’s very effortless to play on, but still gives the player the control they need for a more demanding repertoire. The action is made entirely of Hornbeam wood and made/assembled in-house at the Pearl River factory for consistency purposes. The UH132R also has a longer key length than the smaller UH121R, which provides the player with greater control

Tone

A rich, bold yet still very clear tone is what the UH132R from Ritmuller produces. This concert upright’s sound does not limit the player at all, regardless of style, and is very flexible. The long bass strings give the player a level of tonal complexity and richness that simply isn’t found in smaller pianos, while the European characteristics come through in this piano’s shining treble

Soundboard

The Ritmuller UH132R has a soundboard made of solid spruce which is tapered. This soundboard is allowed to resonate very efficiently with no interruptions and is tapered to maximize its functional surface area. The UH132R features the largest soundboard size of any upright in their Premium Series.

Cabinet

Ritmuller went with a sleek and contemporary look for the cabinet of their UH132R. The piano is exclusively available in a beautiful Ebony Polish, and the accents on the piano are all done in chrome (or silver) to give the piano a modern look and allow it to stand out as the flagship model in the Series.
