Product Overview
Ritmuller is one of the oldest piano brands there is, having originated in Germany in 1795. Ritmuller pianos became extremely popular in Europe, and were actually Johannes Brahms’ piano of choice. In 2007, the Pearl River Piano Company brought these pianos back to the market again by updating their original scale designs with today’s modern piano stylings and impressively fusing old-world piano wisdom with the most current piano technology. Ritmuller pianos are loved around the world today and offer the market a very high-quality instrument at an attainable price.
The UH121R model is part of Ritmuller’s Premium Upright Series, and is 48” in height or 121cm. For those who have been given piano shopping advice from their teacher, they’ve likely been instructed to get ‘a 48” piano or taller’, so on the UH121R, that box is checked. This size of the piano will give a musician of any level a sufficient string length and soundboard size to perform their repertoire without feeling limited by the amount of tonal output.
Ritmuller pianos have many European influences both because their DNA derives from German scales, but also because Pearl River enlisted some of the top piano makers in Europe to help with the modern Ritmuller re-designs. The UH121R as with the other uprights in the Premium Series contains many desirable features which will impress piano shoppers. Some of these include: an all wood action made by Pearl River from Hornbeam wood, molded maple capped/vertically laminated bridges, German Roslau Strings, and a 17-ply laminated maple pinblock.
In situations where a ‘standard looking’ piano won’t do, the Ritmuller UH121R seems to be a perfect blend of size, tone quality, action reliability and price for many piano shoppers. This piano gives the musician a piano built in the European style, without the price tag
The UH121R is available in Chippendale Polished Ebony and Chipendale Polished Sapele Mahogany and features brass hardware and detailings
