About This Piano
As is the case with virtually all Kawai acoustic pianos, this Kawai RX-1 is built to endure the test of time. It has been well-loved and well-played by its previous owner, but still has an impeccably-responsive touch and captivatingly-warm voice. It was fully-manufactured at Kawai’s Japan factory in Hamamatsu in 2006 and is finished in a traditional ebony polish.
Given that the current equivalent model (GX1) sells for over $42K, this Kawai RX-1 is an excellent opportunity for an intermediate or advanced player that is on a budget and in the market for an exceptional, professional-level grand piano.
Revered for having outstanding tone and touch, the 5’5” Kawai RX-1 is one of Kawai’s most popular and highest-selling baby grand pianos of all-time. Featuring the celebrated Millennium III ABS carbon-fiber action, the RX-1’s action is far superior to the vast majority of conventional wooden action grand pianos. Additional features like NEOTEX key surfaces, mahogany hammers, ultra-slow fallboard, and a steel-reinforced keyslip really put it over the edge in terms of quality.
About Kawai Pianos
Since 1927, Kawai has been on a mission to design the perfect piano. This spirit of innovation and obsession with perfection has led to some of the finest acoustic pianos to come out of Asia. Kawai’s Japanese-made upright and grand pianos in particular are highly-sought after on the new and used market alike due to the excellent cost-to-value ratios they present. Kawai RX grands, the predecessors to the current GX models, are an excellent example of this.
