Video Overview
Description
Combine the superb action with sound technology that samples the amazing Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano sounds, along with Kawai’s virtual technician which lets you create your personal piano sound, and you have a piano that offers remarkable value for the dollar.
Let’s discover more about the CA58!
Model Overview
The more you learn and experience the Kawai CA58 the more you will fall in love with it. Whether it’s the beautiful cabinet, the amazing feel of the action, or the astonishing realistic piano tones, this is a piano that is a must for those looking for tone and feel and an affordable price.
A ‘Concert Magic’ feature allows even the youngest child to play a song by touching any key on the piano and sounding great.
Experiment with the Virtual Technician that allows you to alter user tuning, decay time, damper resonance, string resonance, user temperament, half-pedal adjust, user key volume for light or heavy feel and so many more settings.
And the Grand Feel Compact Action which gives you the control and feel of an acoustic piano – this piano has it all.
Connect wirelessly with your Smartphone or tablet, play MP3 or WAV files directly from a USB stick.
Immerse yourself as you experience the tone of the amazing piano sounds, the realistic electric pianos from Rhodes to the Wurlitzer, the amazing organ tones from the Hammond B3 to the mighty pipe organ!
The Kawai CA58 is a ‘must see’ when shopping for a digital piano.
Action
Kawai’s ‘Grand Feel Compact Action’ uses the same principles as an acoustic piano. That is, a longer wooden key length with all the weights above the key. This means when you push a key down – you are pushing the weights up – just like a grand piano – which gives you more control on the front and the back of the key.
Triple sensor key detection allows for tremendous control and quick repetition.
Add in Kawai’s escapement and ivory touch feel on the white keys and this Kawai digital piano provides you with a tremendous playing experience.
Sound Engine/Tone Generator
The Kawai CA58 uses Harmonic Imaging HI XL to faithfully reproduce the incredible tone of the Shigeru Kawai concert grand piano. HI XL sampling adds up to 120% more sample time when recording each individual key, which captures the character of each note more clearly.
With a whopping 256 note polyphony, the CA58 is designed to give you a dynamic range of tone that one would normally find in a much more expensive instrument.
Connectivity
Two headphone jacks (one 1/4″ stereo and one 1/8″ stereo allow 2 users (teacher/student – 2 siblings etc.) to practice the piano quietly, without disturbing anyone else in the family.
2 x 5 midi ports (midi out and midi in) allow you to hook directly to an external keyboard or device.
Bluetooth midi means you can connect to your Smartphone or tablet wirelessly, to use apps like Garageband, Logic, or any of the many, many apps that are available to help you with your musical experience.
1/4″ L/MONO, R (with volume adjust knob) [unbalanced] line out jacks means you can boost the sound through another amplification system or even do direct recording.
There is even a 1/8″ stereo line-in jack, with convenient volume control, which allows you to hook up an external device like a computer or tablet and have it play the music through the sound system on the CA58.
Lastly, there are 2 USB connectors:
- USB to host – allows you to connect the CA58 to a computer
- USB to device – allows you to plug in a USB flash drive for storing settings, registrations, and recordings and for playback of midi files, MP3, and WAV files.
Accessories
The Kawai CA58 comes in a beautiful premium rosewood finish, satin black, and even a satin white. There is a matching bench with each piano and a huge selection of programmed music built right into the piano such as Czerny, Burgmüller, Beyer, Bach, and Beethoven etudes, or a collection of songs from the popular Alfred’s Basic, Adult, and Premier course books.
Bluetooth
Midi Over Bluetooth (MOB) is a wonderful and fairly new feature in digital pianos today and is also included with the CA58!
Bluetooth midi means you can now stream midi information (data) wirelessly from your Smartphone or tablet without having to hook up cables.
Just open your Smartphone or tablet, find the CA58 as a midi Bluetooth device, and connect.
2 very popular apps are Kawai’s Sound Museum which lets you navigate the features on the CA58 directly from your device and Kawai Virtual Technician which allows you to modify and create your own personal type of piano.
There are now so many apps available for learning, recording, games for fun, and digital sheet music – it opens the door to a whole new world for you!
