About Heintzman Pianos
It is virtually impossible to discuss the tradition of musical instrument building in Canada without the name Heintzman coming up. The Heintzman piano company, which was founded in Toronto, Ontario by Theodore August Heintzman in 1866, is Canada’s most famous instrument manufacturer. The company was internationally-renowned for the impeccable craftsmanship and impressive musicality that their pianos possessed.
Although the company’s Canadian operations ceased in 1978, the Heintzman name and legacy was resurrected in 1989 when Canadian investors acquired the original scale designs and factory equipment and relocated manufacturing of Heintzman-branded pianos to Beijing, China. The legacy of quality graces every dimension of the current generation of Heintzman pianos.
