The W. Hoffmann P162 Baby Grand brings modern German engineering and European construction into the homes of discerning players - for a price that's sure to turn heads.  Entirely hand-made, and 100% European across the board - design, materials, construction, ownership - the P162 is a compelling option for anyone considering a performance instrument in this size range.

Johannes Seiler GS160

There are many who would argue that 160cm is where the real grand piano world starts. The bass strings get longer, the soundboards get larger, and the proportions seem to ‘look’ right. That said, few instruments truly deliver the promise that these expanded proportions within a ‘mainstream’ budget range. Particularly for customers who are seeking an alternate tone or touch to the leading Kawai GL-20 or GL-30, or market regular Yamaha GC1. Enter the Johannes Seiler GS160. A remarkable instrument of aesthetic distinction and musical surprise.

Pearl River GP150

The GP150 has been one of the best selling “baby grand” pianos in North America since the 1990’s. At 4’11”, the wide – tail design of this piano gives the “belly” of the piano more tone, expanding the “sweet spot” where the bass tone is produced. For those with smaller spaces but a taste for the tone and touch of a grand piano, the GP150 is the perfect instrument, providing the sound of a bigger grand piano. Unlike many pianos of this size, the GP150 comes standard with a full sustenuto middle pedal.

Johannes Seiler GS150

Baby grand pianos are a timeless mark of artistry and sophistication on any home lucky enough to feature one. And in an era dominated by electronics and disposable indulgences, the grand piano stands as a reminder that fine, complicated things are still built by people, for the enjoyment of people. Baby grands, as a market, fall neatly into three massive categories - low quality, generic Chinese pianos, mid-to-high range Japanese, and ultra-luxury European makers. But quite aside from any of those stands Seiler. Seiler makes three lines of pianos - two of them in Indonesia, and one in Germany. They are famously transparent about who does what where (a rarity in the piano world), and the Johannes Seiler line plainly and unambiguously one of the best-built and top-performing pianos in its class.

Schimmel C189 Grand

The Schimmel Classic C189 is a 6'3" German handmade piano, built to compete in one of the most popular grand piano size ranges. With many of the same refinements as the premium Konzert series K195, but available for about 25% less, the C189 gets you German for the price of Japanese.

W. Hoffmann P188

The W. Hoffmann P188 could be very much considered the dark-knight cousin of the Bechstein Premium A190. Although not identical, they're so close in materials, design, and construction, that without the distinctive silver plate of the Hoffmann, they'd be difficult to tell apart.  A perfect size for a serious player with a typically-sized room, the P188 gives you everything you want in a piano: breathtaking sustain, exacting precision, and a wide tonal palette with which to work.

Seiler SE168 Grand

In a lineup of five models strong, the Seiler SE168 serves as the ever-important smallest grand piano of the series. At 5’6”, the SE168 borders on baby grand territory, but with meticulous hand craftsmanship and innovative design features like the soundboard ‘Membrator’ system, the SE168 sounds like a much larger instrument. This 100% German-made instrument is a true victory.

Kawai GX-5 Chamber

With 3 generations of knowledge and experience in building world-class pianos, the Kawai GX5 grand piano is an instrument that provides the player with superb power and tone that is both pleasing and inspiring. Pearl River GP170

The Pearl River GP170 is a mid-sized parlor grand piano of respectable performance at an outstanding price point. The instruments have top-of-class aesthetic finishings, stable and resilient soundboards, and musically satisfying scale designs. After years of ambiguous and opaque information and choice in the entry-level Chinese piano market, Pearl River has clearly emerged as the leader in this space. Proudly Chinese, and by unit count, now the world's largest piano builder. This 5'7" grand piano - distinctly larger than its smaller baby grand brethren the GP150 or GP160, will mark any home with distinction, and be an enjoyable musical companion to hobby players, young students, and families seeking to add a touch of class to their entertaining.

Schimmel C169 Grand

The smallest entry in the Schimmel Classic Trilogy, the Schimmel C169 Tradition is one of the most accessible portals into the world of handmade German grand pianos. But don't be fooled by its modest 5'7" size - some of Schimmel's recent technical innovations from their top Konzert series have made their way to the Classic series, resulting in a Classic C169 that punches way above its weight.

Ritmuller R8 Baby

The Ritmuller R8 Classic Grand is the smaller of the two premium baby grand pianos from Pearl River, (R9 is the other). At just 4’11”, it is an attractive compact size that most rooms can comfortably accommodate, and delivers an impressive array of features and specs more often associated with Kawai or Seiler in this price category. A different tone, a different touch, and a different kind of piano. From duplex scaling to hand-wound bass strings, this instrument offers enthusiast players a richer, wider pallet to work with than the base-model Pearl river, with a brand that has continued to win praise for its price category and size.

C. Bechstein B

The C. Bechstein B212 is a blend of the traditional and the modern. While this 7' piano derives much of its tonal pallette from very traditional hammer making techniques, hand-selected woods for the soundboard and rim, and hand-assembled actions, it also takes advantage of laser-precision soundboard tapering and resonance modelling, precision bridge notching, and one of the most resonant frame structures in the industry.  Customers seeking the classic sound of a 7', with a need for the absolute best from the piano industry, the B-212 will not disappoint.

Ritmuller R9 Grand

The Ritmuller R9 Salon Grand is the larger of the two premium baby grand pianos from Pearl River, (R8 is the smaller at 4’11”). At a robust 5'3" this starts to push the upper limits of the baby grand label...just as it pushes the musical constraints of the term as well. The piano is clearly built with affordable musical performance in mind, not just an aesthetic touch for a home; its spec and design are more ambitious than its Pearl River cousin the GP160, and it’s instantly evident upon playing just the first few notes. The sustain and presence are noticeably improved and the treble introduces a true complexity that strains to break through in the smaller and less expensive models.

Kawai GL-10 ATX4

The Kawai GL-10 Baby Grand delivers the renowned quality and craftsmanship of Kawai’s larger pianos, all in a compact size that easily fits into any home or venue. Designed with the same advanced action and components as the RX and GX Series, it ensures a superior touch and exceptional playability. The piano's warm, rich tone and timeless aesthetic make it a beautiful addition to any space. Equipped with the innovative Anytime X4 system, the GL-10 also offers the versatility of silent practice and a variety of digital sound options. It's no wonder this model is currently the #1 selling grand piano in Canada, blending traditional acoustic excellence with modern features for a truly unique playing experience.
