Kanye West is brilliant. Often misunderstood, but brilliant.

So often, people are gifted with great minds, yet have difficulty articulating their message. Looking back through many interviews with Kanye West, it is easy to see the frustration. He is in an interesting situation.

He has aspirations and motivation out the wazoo. He also has a platform to have his voice heard. Yet more often than not, his messages are skewed by the media and pop culture.

Yes, in an interview he did give the impression that he was putting himself in the ranks of Jesus, Gandhi, and Steve Jobs. That was not what he meant. He was wanting to tell the world that people like this inspire him, and he WANTS to be like them. No harm in that, but his original wording was all wrong.

The amount of media attention this man gets is insane. Every sentence is scrutinized. Every idea is criticized. It is almost always chalked up to just “Kanye being Kanye”. Is that fair? Hard to say. But after listening to his latest rant in Kimmel, I’m starting to lean in the direction of no.

Have a listen and see what you think.
