W. Hoffman Pianos by C. Bechstein
Hoffmann Pianos, made entirely by C.Bechstein Europe in the Czech Republic, are a true hidden treasure of the piano world.
Their hand-crafted instruments form a perfect bridge between the mass produced Japanese pianos from Kawai & Yamaha, and the high-end masterpieces from the likes of Bosendorfer, Steinway, or of course C.
Bechstein. The pianos exude tradition from the moment they’re played, and we’re incredibly honoured to have been chosen Ontario’s only outlet for sale.
The History of W. Hoffman Pianos
Bechstein has long been considered the most exacting piano maker in the world, with immaculate quality control, beautifully clear tone, and industry-leading durability.
With the independence of the Czech Republic came an opening: the Bohemia piano factory was purchased by Bechstein and converted into easily the most modern piano factory in Eastern Europe. And out of this factory now comes the W. Hoffmann pianos.

W. Hoffmann Pianos features & Specifications
The W. Hoffmann uprights have many notable design features, such as the over-built frame, the aged white spruce soundboards, and Bechstein’s famous actions. However, one feature stands out above the rest: the full range agraffes. The clarity, tuning stability, and sustain improvements that result from the use of the agraffes are immediately noticeable, and also give real long-term value.
Add to that Bechstein’s notorious attention to detail in the finishing process, and you’re left with upright pianos which perform very well – even when played directly next to instruments more than twice the price.
The W. Hoffmann grands have similar materials and design aspects – however the tonal colour of the instruments is even more unique than their uprights. There is a harmonic complexity in the mid and upper ranges of the piano which immediately excites the ear. And yet the bass is full, clear, with a sure attack.
