About This Piano
This Hazelton Bros HB108 is an excellent specimen of the model. It has been well cared for and maintained. Its cabinet and beautiful ebony polish finish is in excellent condition. While most shorter pianos with a reduced scale design have some shortcomings musically, that is not the case with the HB108. This piano offers incredible tonal depth and a wonderfully-responsive touch from its high-quality action.
At just slightly over $3000, this is a perfect entry-level upright piano for a beginner looking to experience the magic and nuance that only a real soundboard and set of strings resonating in tandem can offer.
About Hazelton Bros Pianos
Brothers Henry and Frederick Hazelton founded their piano factory in 1849 in New York City, which was one of the hotbeds for North American piano making in the 19th century. Due to their consistent quality and resulting popularity, Hazelton Bros were one of very few American piano companies to survive the Great Depression. Pianos sporting the Hazelton Bros name are still being made today by the Korean instrument giant, Samick Music Corporation.
While most of their contemporaries focused on building grand pianos, Hazelton Bros actually specialized in upright piano. High-end upright pianos were the company’s most popular sellers in fact. Accordingly, Hazelton Bros contemporary Samick-produced upright pianos are also top-tier instruments. The HB108 model, a 42.5” continental-style console piano, is no exception to this notion.
