Nothing quite matches the feeling of sitting down behind a beautiful new piano, carefully prepared, and expertly chosen.  Some performance pianos take up to two years to manufacture, while other starter pianos come in a nice efficient, cost-conscious package.  Some may have intricate wood-work, while others a clean, contemporary cut.  Regardless of which piano you select, choosing from a full and credible lineup of options is always a must.  Merriam’s collection of new pianos from around the world is widely considered to be amongst the top 5 in North America (Music Inc. Magazine), and hundreds of musicians and other music professionals visit us every year just to marvel at the amazing cross section of instruments. 

One of the challenges, that even an experienced musician faces when selecting a piano, is trying to memorize a sound and a touch long enough to drive from showroom to showroom and make comparisons.  Not only is this virtually impossible, but different comparisons will give different impressions as well (i.e. the most basic piano in a store with many comparisons might suddently seem much better when played in another store without comparisons).  Therefore, providing a wide array of well-selected pianos in a single facility is the only way to truly solve the problem and allow a customer to objectively compare and choose.  Our goal in building our current collection has been exactely that:  to search the world for the most interesting, compelling, and credible manufacturers, and create the ultimate piano ‘test drive’ for customers and institutions of every level and type. 

In our Fazioli room, for instance, musicians have the chance to play the very best from Germany, Italy, the United States, and Japan right next to one another.  In our main showroom, virtually every segment of the entry-level and mid-range categories are represented, with more than 75 pianos to choose from.  And unlike many in the piano industry, our showrooms are not full of multiple brands of the same manufacturer – each and every piano we sell comes from a different facility with truly different designs and performance characteristics.
